This year at the women's 7s tournament in Tokyo the New Zealand were hot favourites to win a medal. Their first game was against Kenya the black ferns won 29 to 7.The black ferns beat Fiji in the semi final with a game winner try in overtime.In the final the black ferns beat France 26 to 12. Their captain is Sarah Hirini, she was born in 1992. The black ferns were so pumped to get gold and so was New Zealand.

Emma Twigg, serial Olympian, advanced to the semi finals with a convincing win in the Quarter finals last Sunday in Tokyo.

This is Emma’s fourth Olympics and her fourth time advancing to the Semi finals. In Rio she placed fourth by less than a second and she has returned reinvigorated by the culture in the NZ team and she says ‘it’s an honour wearing the Silver Fern’. She also has had expert coaching tips from her nephew who said she needs to train harder. After this advice she pushed herself to row over 26km daily which she told him from Tokyo.

She was encouraged to row by her father. She is a single sculler. She started rowing at the age of 14 while in Napier girls high school in 2001. When she was 16 she won her first national title She first represented New Zealand internationally at the 2003 World Rowing Junior Championships in Athens.As rowing became more serious, she moved from Napier to Cambridge to be at the high performance facility.Her fastest time is 7 minutes 35 seconds.She is a single sculler and has been a world champion in the last 10 years.she also won the Henley Royal Regatta. At the 2019 World Rowing Championship. Where she won silver.

 On Tuesday someone from food for thought came into our classroom to teach us about foods, her name was Britney she taught us about occasional and everyday. Everyday foods are foods like fruits and veges, some dairy products and animal products for protean.my favourite part was when got heaps of pictures of food and we had put them in categories. do you eat good?

The Awesome New Brighton Library

 The Awesome New Brighton Library

On Tuesday room 1 and 2 went to the Awesome New Brighton Library. We walked from school to the Library, it didn't take us as long as I suspected we all power walked really fast.we got to have a buddy to talk and walk. My buddy was Isaac.

When we got there room 2 went in the huge two story library and we got to play on the ginormous beach side playground. I was so excited.First I went on the humongous swings the chain was as long as a giraffe's neck it was so long! Then I went on the circle swing with Rico and Quinn. Rico pushed me the highest it was awesome, it felt like my stomach was flying all through my body.We could also hear the calming bright blue ocean good for surfing and boogie boarding.

Now it is our turn to go to the library. I was so excited I wanted to read the tom gates I haven't already read.when we went in one of the workers told us what we can and not do.I power walked to the kids chapter book fiction section. I found Tom Gates! I was reading that book for the rest of the time on the library trip.

On the way back me and Rico were in the front of the line and we were speed walking. It didn't take long to go back.That was our awesome New Brighton Library trip.
